I have been reading "In The Eye of The Storm" by Max Lucado. It wasn't quite what I expected it to be but it's what I needed it to be. Every time we read the story about Peter walking out to Jesus on the water, most of us remember Peter failed to complete his destination. Most of us over look the fact that Peter did actually take that leap of faith to get out of the boat in the first place; the lighting, thunder and gale force winds were not his friend that day. Then this Man, his teacher, who he knew as a mighty man of God became His Savior that day. I think that if we would just take that first step of faith in spite of what storm is surrounding us God will, just like He did for Peter, if we do feel like we are sinking and just cry out, He will hold His hand and carry us back to safety in His loving arms of grace.

As a child of God, as a might woman of God, His gift of faith is just that, a gift. It’s not something that we earn nor purchase but a gift, a wonderful gift from our Savior. We need to start believing in His word

1 Ephesians 13-14It's in Christ that you, once you heard the truth and believed it (this Message of your salvation), found yourselves home free—signed, sealed, and delivered by the Holy Spirit. This signet from God is the first installment on what's coming, a reminder that we'll get everything God has planned for us, a praising and glorious life. (msg)

No where in these verses does it say we have to work for it, earn it, give up anything, be holy enough, never of sinned (there goes my inheritance :-)), NOWHERE. I am HOME FREE!! I praise God daily for His mercy and grace and forgiveness, for which makes me free, wealthy and sanctified as His daughter.
